Hey, do you need to have slime tubes down there? Are there goat heads?

I had no idea there were trails out at SARA. I'm so taking my bike next time I'm out there.

The camera is probably 18 inches out from the bike. Yes, it does whack bushes, etc, and sometimes you have to stay a little left to avoid boulders. You definitely need 2 racks because one won't get the camera out far enough. It actually has to go diagonally back and then out so you can pedal and get back off the saddle, or the back of your thigh hits the boom. Give me your e-mail and I'll send you a pic of my setup, just give me a little time.

Could you get by with one rack or do you feel that two is necessary. Once again, fantastic video, some of the best I have seen on a bike. Nice work.

Approximately how many inches out is the camera from the seatpost? Does the camera ever get snagged on brush/trees. Ride On, Sgt

Yes, mounts to the seatpost. I bought 2 seatpost-mount cargo racks from Price Point, cut the cage off one and attached it to the seatpost angled out to the side, then attached the other one to it and attached the camera to the end.

Totally agree on the footage. Much better than helmet cam, especially when riding solo. What does the boom attach to, the seatpost?. I started rigging a PVC unit today, attached to seatpost. Still need to tweak it before hitting the trails.

Yeah, rigged up a boom using 2 seatpost-mount cargo racks (cut the cage off of the closest one so it's only the pole). Footage much more interesting than pure helmet cam.

Sorry so long to reply. Yes, this is all SARA park. There are at least 20 miles of trails out there. |
